Skype?!?

Hey - Im looking for advice or a beginners guide to setting up skype. My contribution to the wedding shower for my girls little sister is to find a way to connect in her friend who is currently stationed in Hawaii with the Army. I know skype can do the telephone/webcam deal and I have the equipment I need - I just need help figuring out how to work with skype. Suggestions and advice please people?
