Adding female power armor might help. I have one. Getting all of this painted in two weeks will be tough.

OK, I got the forces worked out for GASPcon, see attached .pdfs

I tried to keep the force sizes manageable, so each player will have about 100 pts to work with.

I can take UEDF Squads 3, 4 and 5.  I have a Max so I can paint mine up.
Paul, do you want to take UEDF squads 1 & 2?  All Destroids.
Pat, you can help with the Zentraedi with Tom.  There are a bunch, and if I get done with the UEDF, I can jump on these as well.

Thanks,

Unless Tom has an ETA on our shipment (since he and I combined), I assume we'll just end up using your sprues.

I can do the Destroids. Looks like we have 4 Spartans, 4 Tomahawks, 2 Defenders, and 2 Phalanxes.

One thing I noticed. Tom and I went on a Showdown together. That essentially gives us each a Battlecry level each. A Battlecry level only provides 2 of each of the Destroids. Hence, I'll be painting 2 Tomahawks and 2 Spartans that are technically Tom's.

The sheet has 55 zentraedi models on it. I'm only getting 1 battlecry and can't get that much assemble and painted in two weeks.

Wave One contains the following items:
•12 Regult Battlepods
1 Glaug Officer’s Battlepod
1 Quel-Regult Recon Pod,
1 Quel-Gulnau Recovery Pod
•12x Regult Battlepods
•4x Artillery Regult Battlepods
•1x Quel-Regult Recon Pod
•1x Glaug Officer’s Battlepod
•1x Quel-Gulnau Recovery Pod

Put me where you need me.  I am looking at assembly and base coat right now.  I doubt that I have enough time to do more.

You must have missed the post where I said that.  If you take a sprue from me to paint, you keep it and give me the same sprue back.  As for the extra destroids, I'll talk with Tom tonight and see how he feels about that.

We can split the Regults up, you would only take and paint what you could return, so 24 regults, plus the artillery and recon pods (1 Battlecry's worth).  Denny has a bunch of stuff painted already, since he got his stuff last week.  Let me check with him and see what I can field already with what he's done.  I think he's up to around 20 Regults painted, and starting on Valkyries now.

Put me where you need me. I am looking at assembly and base coat right now. I doubt that I have enough time to do more.

If you don't think you can get them completely painted (this goes for anyone that wants to help out), then no point in taking any.  It's aggressive, but I want to field fully painted squads.  I have this weekend and next, so I should be able to power through most of this anyway.

I looked at the squad break downs again and came up with this, it fits within everyone's model count I think.

Zentraedi
Tom:  squads #1 and #2 (18x regults, 2x glaugs, 2x recon)
Denny: squad #3 (9x regults, 1x glaug, 1x recon)
Denny maybe ???: squad #4 (6x regults, 6x arty pods)
???: squad # 5 (6x regults, 1x glaug, 1x recon, 2x arty)

UEDF
Don: Squads #1, #2, and #3 (12x destroids, 4x Valkyries (at 3 poses it))
Paul: squad #4 (5 Valkyries (at 3 poses each))
Pat: squad #5 (4x Valkyries (at 3 poses each))

This should work better.  Can everyone strive to have this amount of models painted for the con?

Thanks,

I will have to back out then.  I won't be able to get fully painted models done at this point.

Here's a slightly updated set of squads.  The original was built from another person's layout, and he did some stuff wrong with Support and Special units.  I also made the Characters a separate selection, as I wrongly had them lumped in with Special Force Cards (which you can only take 1 of per core force).  Now you can select as many characters as you want, and assign them as you want to squads.

This really doesn't change what we need to paint, so get cracking!

Just sent this to Don, but I figured it would help out everybody who's doing painting. There's a really good website that I found that shows off different paint schemes for Valkyries, Regults, Destroids, etc. It's call MAHQ. Here's some links that give you some different views of the mecha that are in the main book.

Macross (Robotech 1st Gen.) page: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/index.htm

VF-1A:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/vf-1a.htm
VF-1D:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/vf-1d.htm
VF-1J:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/vf-1j.htm
VF-1S:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/vf-1s.htm

Regult:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/regult.htm
Glaug:http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/sdfmacross/glaug.htm

The site has a bunch of other units, but it references the Japanese names of the units since it focuses on the individual anime series of Macross

While talking with Tom and Paul last night, I decided to not include Fighter mode for the GASPcon game, only Guardian and Battleoid mode for the Valkyries.  I cuts down Valkyrie painting by 1/3, and since it's a city fight scenario, fighter mode doesn't really fit the theme anyway.

Thanks,

The more I read the rules and paint the minis, the more psyched I get to play Robotech.  Plus seeing updates from Tom and Paul with their painting progress is awesome.

I'm hoping we can get some open-play games in at the con as well.

Very jazzed for this.  Can't wait to see this on the board.  I hope I get my stuff soon so I can read the rules and get up to speed
