Title: Hey Folks
Post by: Baron Von Harper on November 14, 2020, 04:27:17 PM
Hey Everyone,

I'm just stopping in to say hi. It's been awhile. I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected. The only gaming I've got in for awhile has been with my son. If things ever get better I hope to see you all again. I miss GASP dearly.

Take care folks.

-Tim

[echoes]

There's nobody here now.  Just old Chuck.

The GASP form is sort of like the abandoned casino world where they discovered Gelt in Battle Beyond the Stars.

We're still here, just not nearly as active.

Yes, the greatest case of analysis paralysis in history!  We've not moved a single piece in nine months.  So many possible continuation lines, so may probabilities to consider.

Analysis paralysis would be a lot easier to solve than the current situation...

Nobody here but us chickens.

I've still been gaming online.  It's not the same, but it's better than nothing.

Hey Chuck. Hehe.

Online gaming is better than nothing...

I've started doing a bit of solo gaming to pass the hours at work.

I know it's a bit of a ghost town here (ghost chickens?) but I just felt like checking in.

Thanks for the chance to play so many games over the years. It was time well spent. \m/

Pokes his head up from beneath the ice.... ghost chickens? wings with ghost pepper sauce? sounds painful, returning from a long long hiatus. Will start to peek in here more often, since, well, I dont want anything to do with face book and the culture that seems to be there.

I have a few solo wargames, but have still been getting together with some friends to play in-person this past year - and doing it more now.   We're just waiting for the word again from the church to open up Games Days, I'm hopeful it will be June but we'll see.

Mmm. Ghost pepper chicken wings. Hehe.

I started playing in a local AD&D game every few weeks which has been nice. They even let me nine-year-old son play last Sunday for the first time.

Oh that we could all role play like a 9 year old!  They are natural experts at it while us adults have to work at it.

My son sees things differently than all of us jaded grognards. Hehe.

I find it hard to watch a movie even now, most of them are so predictable.  I really wanted to like the movie "Monsters" that I tried to watch last weekend, but it was so predictable, it felt like a stock-intro adventure for a RPG.  You just knew that certain things would have to happen, would have to go wrong, to put hunky hero and cute girlfriend in x situation that the movie required them to be in; it was so predictable.  The plot felt very contrived; the filmmakers never got past that 'contrivedness.'

Watch out for those chickens!!!

I have been playing D&D 3.5 online with my middle son with a few other dads from work. It works okay but the shorter time slot limits how much we can get done. Hopefully things open more up soon :)

Ah, a rooster with a cigar - smoked chicken!  I get it.  ;D

Oh, and PNC Park will be open at full capacity on July 1st, so I assume our church friends will re-open around then as well.

Our AD&D campaign has been going well. We're all 5th-7th level and my son asks every week when we are playing. Good times.

I just saw that the Games Days are back. Nice.

How old is he now?
