Shoot! This is NOT scary nor broken in this environment. It's also not my style so thanks for the help!

When you cast Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, destroy target permanent.
Annihilator 4 (Whenever this creature attacks, defending player sacrifices four permanents.)
Ulamog is indestructible.
When Ulamog is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library.

This looks interesting is this an open group would I be able to join should I be able to make the sessions or is it closed now that the "season" has started?

Both the Multiplayer Magic League & Theme League 2011 are open all year around.

Not sure what April's theme is yet, SilverFirePrime is the chairsperson and will be chiming in within a week.

Thanks,
KJ

April's game will be a modified version of a variant I found called 'Fish Fiddling'

rules can be found here:
http://www.angelfire.com/games4/magicvariants/Fish_Fiddling.htm

In this variant, you are given 20 points to spend to modify how many cards you draw, how many colors you can play in your deck, your hand capacity, and your life total.

Changes I'm making:

1) You will need to use all 20 points in determining your above listed stats

2) The Dice-rolling part will be removed

Additional Rules -
No deck limit
No unglued/unhinged
No ante

Okay, so say I use my 20 points like this:

4 points to start at 20 life (16 points left)

7 points to have a max hand capacity of 7 (9 points left)

6 points to draw 6 cards over 4 turns or "+6/4 Draw" so turn one I draw 1 card, turn two I draw 2 cards, turn three I draw 1 card and turn on turn four I draw 2 cards. This makes 6 cards over one cycle of four turns. (3 points left)

3 points to play a three color deck.

20 points used.

Did I get that right?

So out of curiosity, should I decide to play an Artifact Deck.  Would I need to spend any points on colors?

go ahead say it... read the rules stupid...

In anycase, limits on deck, or standard min no max?

Finish R-ing.T.F.A. then ask questions I will tell myself from now on...

If you made an artifact deck what would spend the extra points on? AND, would there a distinct advantage to building a colorless artifact deck?

You could use the points on whatever you chose.

And while building an all artifact deck would have its advantages, I'm sure it has its disadvantages too.  If somebody has a super high life total, they may be an early game target.  Drawing two cards a turn can deck you quickly if the game stalls.  An 11 card hand could be tricky to keep full.  Not to mention Shatterstorm.

I don't see how, besides being Shatterstorm vulnerable, this would be any different than running almost any mono deck.  I will have to go through what I have built and then double check with the other half if I'm allowed to make it to this, March included to TTG Sundays so I may get flack about yet another day out all day...

So with points for mana.

If I don't spend a point on a color, but there is a card in my deck that generates that color, what happens? Is it like EDH where I'm not allowed to have a card with that mana symbol and if I somehow generate a color that I don't have points in, I generate colorless mana instead?

this sounds like a fun theme game. Somebody just needs to bring a list of the points so we can do last minute checks of our decks. Oh, and I will be there this month
