Anima Tactics tournament
« on: December 18, 2009, 08:31:11 AM »
For all you Anima Tactics players, I wanted to give you a heads-up.

I'm working with Legions to schedule a rulebook release tournament for the game.  Latest word from Cipher is the rulebook is being shipped to distributors now, and will be at retails the first of the year.

To that end, the plan is to hold a tournament on January 16th at Legions.  There will be an entry fee of $10 to cover prizes, but if you purchase the rulebook from Legions, you can cut your entry fee in half.  There will be a prize for the winner, as well as a door prize and a best painted army prize.

I'll be running the tournament, so I won't be playing (unless we have a low turnout).  If we do have a low turnout, then we can adjust both the entry fee and prizes to suit.

More details to follow.

Thanks,

Got a rough points value on it?

Most likely 200 levels.  I want to avoid having Leaders in the builds, and they enter play at 250 levels.  Plus most players will be relatively new to the rulebook, so I want to keep it a bit smaller.  200 levels will give you 3-5 models.

I'll be posting a detailed calendar entry this weekend.

Well, at 200 pts, you can still field an Agent so that should be interesting. On top of that, this will be a good opportunity to try out all the Saga III characters they've been releasing. Just picked up Yuki for my Samael faction tonight. Will probably pick up an agent soon.

For the tournament, will you be doing just the standard deathmatch or will you want to try the missions in the back of the rulebook out?

I'd like to use as much stuff from the rulebook as possible.  Instead of random missions like we did at GENCON I will have set missions for each round.
