I think someone in GASP is playing it because I recall receiving an e-mail a couple of months ago from a GASP member asking if I had it in stock.

It's a fun game, but it's still pretty hard to find (at least in physical stores). If you've played Quarriors, parts of Dice Masters will seem familiar, but I think DM is a much better game (although I don't think it handles more than two players, unlike Quarriors).

My friend and I both got a bunch of them.  We'll probably be playing that GASP.  It's a fun game.

I just picked up the Uncanny X-Men starter set at Target, plus 4x Avengers vs X-Men boosters.  Fun game so far, looking to play at Games Day.

Thanks,

Liam just crushed me with a combined and boosted Wolverine and Angel attack.  It was humiliating :)

I'd like to try this out at Dec game day, but I won't get there until after 5.

So the one thing to be prepared for is the game is brutal fast.  20 life goes quick, and you never get all your dice in play.  Most of our games are over in 15-20 minutes tops, and I maybe get to recruit 4-6 extra dice.  Now maybe with more heroes the options for attacking/defending allow the game to last a bit longer, but I don't see it going more than 30 minutes.  This isn't a complaint, but I had to shift my expectations that I'd be building my dice pool like you would build a Dominion deck - not the same.  If one person gets out a few good dice, it's brutal for the other player.  For instance, Liam loves playing with Wolverine, and he alone can do 10+ damage in one hit with a couple simple boosts.

All that said, I'll have my stuff at Games Day and can teach you the game.

If you have a choice between starter sets, go with the Avengers vs. X-Men one (which is, unfortunately, still harder to find) because its version of the base dice are slightly easier to read. And then prepared to be surprised when non-X-Men characters show up in the X-Men booster packs.

I can't find that starter. Does Phantom have any in stock?

Played again last night with Liam, and I was able to get Magneto out, and finally beat up on Wolverine.  I know Liam is only 8, but it felt GOOD :)

Did you make him cry?  Cause you're not doing it right if you didn't :)
